Franco Ceccato – Integrated Marketing Campaign

Franco Ceccato is a fashion and leisure footwear retailer with 80 stores in both South Africa and Namibia. The Suits developed and rolled out a binational in-store summer campaign for this fashion retailer – collaborating with distinguished fashion photographer, Jacques Weyers, to reposition Franco Ceccato as the footwear retailer for the emerging market. Beyond the store, regional print ads and a social media campaign generated a Facebook page growth of over 1000%, skyrocketing the brand’s social presence.

The Ambassador was written by South African novelist, André P. Brink, between November 1962 and August 1963, when he was 27 years old. It is set in Paris in the 1960’s and was a literary protest to the injustice of apartheid during that period. Brink wrote the novel after studying at the Sorbonne in Paris for two years.

Living in Paris, between 1959 and 1961, gave him an outside perspective on what was happening in South Africa. The Sharpeville massacre, in particular, was the shock that forced him to see the true nature of the injustice in his country. In this fashion editorial, we bring to life this ground-breaking novel.
